Harmon’s Half-Day Hazy IPA definitely caught my eye. The smart looking orange and blueish-green box stood out on the shelves at the grocery store. I’m due for a review so I picked up the box of non-alcoholic bevvies.
The London-based company is on a mission to elevate the non-alcoholic experience. (The slogan – Harmon’s gives you the taste and quality you want in a beer β but without the buzz – is straightforward and to the point.
Sustainability is a common thread throughout the company’s messaging with its commitment to reduce waste and sourcing ingredients without pesticides, GMOS and in-organic waste.
Harmon’s only brews non-alcoholic beer with offerings such as Ride or Die Pale Ale, Buzz-Kill Pale Ale and Tresette Italian-Style Pisner.
I always check the FAQs – this one is funny. Question: Will a 0.5% beer freeze if left outside? Answer: It will during a Canadian Winter. Please ensure that you’re having the beer sent to a delivery address where someone is home or can receive it. If the beer is left on a porch or doorstep it will most definitely freeze.
My Review – Harmon’s Half-Day Hazy IPA (355 ml, 70 calories, 0.5% ABV)
Name bling (name creativity) β Harmon’s Craft Brewing is named after Lois Harmon, one of the founder’s mother. I am not sure here the name “half-day” comes from but let’s take a leap and suggest it is based on working a half-day at work then drinking the rest? ββ
Sip n’ Savour (taste) β The brewers describe it as a hazy New England IPA that is “dry-hopped to crank up that tropical citrus hop punch.” I knew I liked this hazy IPA at first sip. I was greeted with a perfect balance of the hop and subtle sweetness. It checks all the boxes in the taste department. ββββ
Wallet Wellness Index (value for money) β I picked up a six-pack for $12.99 at the grocery store. I think it was adequately priced for the taste. βββ
Label Love (packaging/presentation) β The box was sleek and eye catching. The orange and blue-ish cans are simple with a tiny sketched image of bicycle handles pointed towards the mountains. I like the simplicity of the cans – they almost remind me of the packaging from the 1950s and 1960s. ββββ
Overall β This is delicious-tasting IPA. I would definitely buy it again. ββββ
