I bought Unbreakable Runner because quite frankly … I feel broken. Well sorta … but it fits, right?
Truth be told my right achilles has been acting up in a major way lately. I can’t seem to run with any sort of pick up without it screaming bloody murder. Sigh. I’ve been doing all the prescribed rolling, stretching and icing but clearly it is not enough.
I was wandering through Chapters earlier this week and this book jumped out at me. I’m a Brian MacKenzie fan and I’ve been meaning to pick up the book. I think the book is based on Crossfit Endurance so I will know some of the material already. (You may remember I participated in a Crossfit endurance clinic a few years ago.)
I am trying not to think the worst about my injury.
This weekend I am scheduled to run 30K on Saturday and another 16K on Sunday. I cut my run short today by two kilometres and tomorrow is a rest day. After this weekend or even after Saturday, I may re-assess to see if I should reduce my mileage while I heal.
Sigh.
Wish me happy running!
I will be vicariously deprived if, for some reason, you are unable to run… so…HAPPY RUNNING!!
lol thanks Brian! Happy International Day of Happiness! : )
Thanks, Crystal, now that I know about it I've been seeing it all over the place but I can safely say I heard about it from you first! Hope your day's been Internationally Happy as well!
OH NO not the bloody Achilles! Keep an eye on it in case you notice swelling after a run. Keeping my fingers crossed you get past it soon xxx
