And it’s back to reality …. No doubt by the time you read this I will be staring at a blank computer screen in my office. My four-day holiday is over. What about you? I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends.
Early last week I decided to take a road trip but after checking the road conditions I changed my mind and stayed in Red Deer. It wasn’t so bad. I enjoyed a nice Christmas dinner at a friend’s house. I am fortunate to have friends that take pity on a single soul like myself.
I took this picture during one of my daily walks along the Sylvan Lake boardwalk. There’s a grave marker near this pole. I always wonder what happened here. I ran mostly every day and got my butt into crossfit yesterday. Boy am I feeling those lunges today!
But most of all, I studied. My government law exam is less than a month away! I am starting to get nervous so I forced myself to study. Some of the stuff is pretty dry but it is finally sticking in my brain. Honestly I don’t know how students can study today with all the technology distractions. I have to turn off my iPhone. I am easily distracted!
Oh and I read a few books. I read Paulo Coelho‘s Adultery. (As you may recall, he’s one of my favourite authors.) I really liked it but some reviews were not that flattering. Lately, however, I have been reading books about psychopaths and killers. Yes this is a step away from my usual reading but I like to switch things up a little bit now and then.
What are you reading? How were your holidays?
