Crossfit: 12 Days of Christmas WOD

Good morning, loyal readers! I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas eve with your loved ones. I am working with about six other people in the newsroom. (It’s going to be a slow news day.) Still I had no excuse for skipping crossfit because I had to get up for work anyway.

We had a super small crossfit class at 6:15 a.m. Most of the regulars must have hit snooze on their alarms. Slackers 🙂 I knew it would be a fun WOD because the awesome and talented Courtney was the coach in charge. She always makes the WODs fun even when we are crying in agony!

Our WOD was called the 12 Days of Christmas. Every year, the box does the same WOD or a variation of it. It was LONG and SWEATY. I was taking no chances on the box jumps. I embraced the step ups on the 24-inch box. We all sprinted like crazy on that last 100-metre row. Three of us finished in 47:18 while Steph beat us all by eight seconds. (And she wasn’t even trying!)

Here is a pic of our 6:15 a.m. class after the WOD. I “strongly urged” Carlos on Twitter to come because it was picture day. From l to r: Coach Courtney (on box), Trina, Stephanie, Ashley, Carlos and Kelly. (I’m taking the picture.)

Merry and healthy Christmas everyone!

    1. It's this awful movement with dumbbells. You have to do a push up holding two dumbells, then do a row, a burpee and then a front squat with them (something like that). It was not fun.
