(Ultra) Marathon Monday: Rhythm of the Hills

Running & gardening.

That was my life last week. I have cranked up the volume on my mileage. Last week I ran 70 kms. Up until Lost Souls, I will be running 5 days a week (and crossfit 3 times). My mileage will likely peak around 85 kms.

So far so good. My legs have found the rhythm of the hills. My ankles and Achilles are not as tender as they were last week. Good sign. I haven’t found any major hills in Red Deer so I have been travelling on old territory. Up and down. Up and down.

A few weeks ago, I ordered another batch of Tailwind Nutrition. I wish I had some on yesterday’s long run. I bonked and it wasn’t pretty. Hopefully it will be here this week. (I love it but the shipping costs are quite high.)

Now to my garden …. I am very excited about my bounty!

My spinach and green swiss chard is ready to harvest. The carrots and beets have finally taken on life. Now I get gardening. It’s so rewarding. Only a month ago, I was staring at the dirt on this plot.  I hope I can keep up with the growth. Last week I went to the garden armed with a big bowl and scissors. Now my fridge is full of green goodness!
Happy Trails!
