Post-Race Woes & What’s next

I’ve been hobbling around since Saturday. For the first day, both legs/feet hurt equally. Now the pain or stiffness has shifted to the left side of my body.

Poor me. I know what you’re thinking. You did this to yourself – by choice! You’re right. I am not complaining too much about my pain because I know I wouldn’t get much sympathy.

It’s great to be finished with the training and the actual 50K. Training and non-training has consumed me for months. I feel like a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I can now relax and plot my next move.

I don’t have any races planned in June. My next two races are back to back in July. I run a short trail run on a Saturday and the next day a half-marathon on the Sunday. I can handle the break in training (but not too much) so I can get back into CrossFit.

My other big race this season is the Tuscon Marathon in December. Audrey and I both are hoping to qualify for Boston at this race. Between the races in July and the December marathon, I have Melissa’s 22K Road Race and two Spartan Races!

It’s going to be a fun mix of races and events this season. As they say, variety is the spice of life.
