I am behind by a couple weeks in my Trail Runner Nation podcasts. Imagine my surprise when one of the guests was Bryon Powell from iRunFar and the author of Relentless Forward Motion, the ultramarathon guidebook that I just picked up. (Listen to it here.)
Must be fate or something. He gave some great insight into running and into writing the book. I’m not reading it chapter by chapter so I have a few more left to go over. So far, so good. He provides some good commentary and glimpses into the world of ultramarathoners. No doubt by the time May rolls around, I will be well versed in the book.
Fortunately Mother Nature is on my side this week. While the rest of the country is dealing with a huge dump of snow, it is like spring here. Crossing my fingers it stays this way all week and into the weekend. I have lots of running to do.
As you can tell, there’s still a lot of ice. I ran over this bridge 4 times without falling. Score. I have to be super careful when I run. It’s tough because I want to do a little speed work. Not sure if it would have mattered today. My legs were still feeling the heavy from last week’s WODs. Still it was nice to get out in the fresh air and get my legs moving.
