Week in Review: My Training Life

I’m a little zonked. I could use a nap. This week I clocked 4 hours of CrossFit and 4 hours of Running to make it 8 hours of training.

This morning I ran with the Running Room’s marathon group. They were set for 15km. The half-marathon runners were running 18k but I wanted to run with Tara so I chose the shorter distance. Actually the group was scheduled to run 13k but the route was incorrectly measured. I didn’t mind because I wanted more time on my feet.

I saw where I definitely needed to spend more time on my feet. My endurance is fine. I need to get a few tempo runs in over the next couple weeks.

In four weeks time, I will be running the hypothermic half-marathon. Time sure did sneak up on me. I ran 11k yesterday. My left leg is definitely feeling the weekend warrior routine right now. I’ve been giving it lacrosse ball love to mitigate the damage.

I did pretty good on this week’s goals. I went to bed early. I brought my lunch almost everyday. I ran more – 3 times this week (just not enough during the week). And I turned off the television and got more sleep eye.

Setting weekly goals puts everything into perspective. And it keeps me motivated to make my life better and to change the things I want to change. This beats complaining everyday.
