The numbers don’t lie! Race day is slowing approaching. I am not freaking out – just yet. I know I have lots of time to train and to get my head into the game. All I ask for now is NICE WEATHER.
I swear to you I would run more if it weren’t -30C below and 10 inches of snow on the ground. I promise you. True story. I know my 4x a week CrossFit habit is keeping me in running shape. But it’s tough to shrug off that more mileage is better mentality. I always feel slightly guilty when I talk to a runner who has chalked up more miles than I have that week. The shame.
But I know I am a stronger athlete (dare I write athlete?) for all the strength training. So what if every week I find another muscle imbalance. I feel fierce. And I will get stronger. That’s what is important to me – getting stronger and maintaining or besting my endurance.
