Saturday CrossFit: WOD

Over the last week, I had four different instructors for our CrossFit onramp classes. Scary Lionel led us on Saturday. On Tuesday, it was Jasmine and on Thursday Marni. And today it was Wade.

It’s a nice to change to have different instructors. Out of the lot this week, I think Wade was probably the best in terms of explaining and demonstrating. Mainly I think it was because there were only five of us this morning. Sometimes we had 12 people in one class last week. That’s a lot of people to manage.
This morning, I dragged myself out of bed once again. I tried to get to bed before midnight (which I did). But I didn’t bounce out of bed when my alarm sounded. It took me a good half hour to get my legs moving. While I may curse my alarm every morning, I have no regrets after I get moving.
I warmed up and stretching a bit before I went to Ignite. I hoped we weren’t doing anything too challenging because of my race tomorrow. I need to save some energy.
Our new skill was the MB clean. We did it at the end of the workout. We were told that we would be doing it in next week’s classes. For strength we worked on the press. I felt better than last week’s press.
Our Saturday WOD:
400 metre run
75% of max push ups
lunge walk (2 lengths of gym)
15 thrusters of 80% PP
75% of max sit ups
400 metre run
We also did our sit up and push up test. I admit I might have not tried my hardest on both tests. I did a comfortable number before I called it. The WOD was okay. I was told to up the weight next time because I used the training bar. I’m becoming more focused. Sometimes I just feel overwhelmed with all this stuff being thrown at me. Eventually I won’t have to think so much about my form and just do it.
