When I first set out this morning, I didn’t think I would last long. It took me about an hour before I was fully awake and ready to work. I didn’t really have a mileage plan. I knew I should run for at least two and a half hours.
It was a really cool morning. And the Perimeter trail was still wet from the last rain. The trails are always the best part of my run. I love getting away from the asphalt and onto the beaten dirt trail. Love it.
I was surprised to see so many people out this morning. I expected most people to be at work. There were several older couples walking their dogs. That was nice to see.
I made sure to take a few gels along the way. I ate like a tired bird yesterday which explains my lack of energy. I need to drill this on my forehead – Eat properly.
When I hit the 2-hour mark, my legs started to complain so I picked up the pace.
I It felt pretty good until something tweaked in my left leg. I jogged it out and this seemed to do the trick. The same tweak happened last week when I was at the track. I’ll have to keep an eye on my leg.
I stretched really well when I got home. Ahhh the life of a runner….
