Shake of the 8 Ball

I was determined to run for at least an hour and a half today. When I got up it was -7. Yikes. I slept really well last night so I was well-rested. I stretched for about 30 minutes and drank coffee (bad!) before I set out. It had warmed up to 0 so I didn’t bundle up.
I tried to find another route which didn’t have me running in circles but that was difficult to do in this area. I hate wasting time trying to find out where the road leads. I made the mistake in the first 20 minutes so I decided to just run routes I knew.
I managed to run a slow 17k but I was happy with the distance since I missed my long run on Sunday. At 1 hour and 30 minutes, I was at 14.5k. My legs were a little tired from the hills/stairs yesterday. I took it easy and decided to run at least 16k and jogged the last kilometre.
I thought a lot about my training for my first marathon. That’s going to keep me motivated to keep running the longer distances.
I’ll take a rest day from running tomorrow. I’m back to work on Thursday. Sometimes it’s nice to just leisurely spend your day. I am still in my bathrobe but I am doing downtown to watch the hockey game in another hour. Better get dressed.
