Yes, 20 years have passed since the day I cried and cried over the best hockey player in the world. I remember vividly where I was when Wayne Gretzky was traded to the LA Kings. Boy, did I ever cry. I know I was a budding teenager at 15 but still he was my hockey hero.

My neighbour came into our house on Lakewood Rd. in the heart of Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia to tell us because he heard it on the radio. At first I didn’t believe him because to me and thousands and others it was the unthinkable. Why would Pockington trade the greatest hockey player on the planet away to another team and an American one at that. Boy did I hate Peter Pockington that day. It ruined my summer. My poor Oilers.
