Hanging out in Banff

Who doesn’t love Banff in the winter? Or the summer for that matter? Alison and I headed to Banff on Saturday morning. It’s been a few years since my old pal and I hung out so it was wonderful to catch up with what was going on in our lives.

It’s hard to believe that I have known her since she was 16. We met playing in this old ballhockey league in Ottawa. Fast forward to years of playing football and hockey together. Blast from the past. I haven’t thought about those days in years.

The skies were clear and the temperatures were just right.

We marvelled at the lack of snow on the drive to Banff from Calgary.

We decided to check out Tunnel Mountain, just north of the Banff townsite.

There were a handful of people on the trail – not too many.

What a wonderful day. After Tunnel Mountain, we walked around the town and poked our heads into a few shops. Not surprising, there were tons of tourists. People from around the world flock to Banff all year long. We went to the Grizzly Bear for lunch, where I dined on fries and broccoli.

Great day!
