Terry asked the question, How Does Your Garden Grow?
Well Terry, not very well. Not very well. I read your post and I wanted to cry. Your garden boxes look so organized and your helpers are so darn cute. Call me green with garden envy.
Oh woe
So far I have been having a disappointing garden season. This time around I planted my entire medium community garden plot. In my first two seasons, I shared a plot with friends. I had big expectations this year. Of course Mother Nature had other plans. Rain did not fall for weeks. There’s no water source at the plot. I had to transport water to my garden and hope that it was enough to encourage the seeds to do their work.
My lettuce has let me down. By now I am usually enjoying fresh salads. No such luck. I replanted a row and there seems to be signs of life. (Cross your fingers.) It’s sad. My rows are spotty. Even the weeds aren’t growing. I’m afraid my plot is the worst in the neighbourhood. I only have to look at my neighbour’s plots to know my garden sucks.
Sigh.
Good news?
Zucchini. Collard Greens. Potatoes.
It’s my first time growing collard greens. So far, so good. I planted two rows of zucchini but only one row is doing well. My potato plants are rocking the plot.
Meanwhile I am crossing my fingers for the other rows to show some sign of life. I have faith that my little garden will not let me down. It is still relatively early in the season so there’s lots of time. Right?

Please grow, please grow, please grow! There that should do it! Have you been getting enough rain out your way? We’re in the middle of a bit of a drought here in London and it’s become a daily chore to get out there and water all the new plants we planted last week. Fingers crossed for both of us!
Oh man, no water!? That’s hard!! I had to water mine almost daily for the first few weeks, we’ve had more rain of late, so it’s been better, but early on, intervention was necessary! I hope the greens, zucchini, and potatoes make up for it!
