Rachel and I had a wonderful relaxed run and chat on the trail this morning. (Yes I am sticking my tongue out in this picture. I can’t seem to keep a straight face when I know my picture is being taken. Any tips?) We ran on new trails so it became an adventure and challenged my map reading ability.
Good news? We didn’t get lost. It’s funny I can’t read a road map but I am awesome with trail maps. Maybe it’s the real world fear of getting lost or eaten by wildlife. Actually I am not that concerned about running into bears. I haven’t seen ANY on my frequent trips to Kananaskis. I brought my bear spray today because Rachel mandated it on this run. She’s a mean Brit so I didn’t want to tackle with her. It’s also mandatory to carry bear spray in Canmore. It looks like I won a free entry in Rundle’s Revenge later this month so I better get used to carry the bear spray again.
Tomorrow I am headed northwestish to Coliseum Mountain for a little hike and some yoga at the top. I ran this mountain once already last year. The area is beautiful and I need to get my butt there more often.
Awesome! Yes, I am mean!! But if we HAD seen a bear, you would have been glad if that spray!!
That’s a great picture! I really need to find some trails to run on.
