June is here and it came in with style. I joined the world’s running community on Global Running Day on June 1. My Twitter and Instagram feeds were flooded with post and pre-run photos. It’s great to see so many runners with their smiling and sweaty faces.
CONFERENCE
Last weekend I attended a two-day journalism conference in Edmonton. It was just what I needed. You know when you come back from these professional development shindig, you feel so inspired and motivated. I attended some interesting seminars and heard about some cool projects happening across Canada.
WEIGHT GAIN
I put on a few pounds over the last couple months. I blame mindless eating and stress. I feel pretty gross about it especially when I am staring at myself in the mirror at Bikram yoga. I made a promise to myself to pay better attention to what I am putting into my body. I know with self-discipline anything is possible.
TRAINING
I have been running directly after work on paths near my office lately. It’s pretty boring but it’s good to get the mileage on my Garmin. My right hip is still giving me some grief but I am back to taking it slow and practicing yoga. Still not sounding the alarms on the injury front. Two more months until Iron Legs and four more months before Lost Souls!
I have some exciting plans in the mountains with Rachel and Karen this weekend. One jaunt involves a yoga mat. What have I gotten myself into?
I’d love to hear more about your mountain yoga! I hope you are going to write about it!
