Snowshoe this!

Hey did I mention I bought snowshoes?

The purchase was a toss up between snow shoes and skis. But the cheaper option won out again. I couldn’t wait to try them out Brent and I went snowshoeing last weekend near Heritage Ranch.

I can’t remember when I last ventured in snowshoes, if ever. It didn’t take me long before I got the hang of the snowshoes. Afterall it’s only walking. But … yay … snowshoeing!

snowshoeThe snow wasn’t very deep. We could tell that these trails have been used often. We didn’t see any other snowshoers but we did come across a few people running or skiing. I was happy to take Brent on the trails were I typically run. I need more friends that snowshoe.

snowshoeBrent used his poles because he said they helped with balance. I didn’t think to bring my hiking poles. We did a fun loop around Heritage Ranch โ€“ about an hour and half. It was fun. I am determined to spend more time outside this winter. The lack of sunshine really messes with my head.

Because I assumed I used different muscles in my body, I thought I would feel it the next or the following day. Surprisingly I felt no pain! I can’t wait to go out again. After my yoga challenge, I hope to snowshoe in Bragg Creek.

Do you snowshoe?
