It’s Remembrance Day – a day to honour Canada’s veterans and fallen. I hope you paused your day to remember those who fought (and continue to do so) for our country.
I woke early for the usual 6 a.m. crossfit torture. I spent most of the morning studying before I went for a short run. I’ve been testing the waters with my HRM which I only started using a couple of weeks ago. (Yes, I know what you’re thinking, where have you been?) I promise a future post on my findings.
It snowed while I was napping. (Busted. I tend to nap after crossfit. ) By the time I got around to my run, the snow was practically gone. Still I am calling it my “first winter run.”
I dug deep in my shoe closet to find my Salomon Speedcross. These monsters only see the light of day in the winter. I am just not into them for regular trail running so they do not make the shoe rotation cut. It’s a preference thing because I know tons of runners who swear by them. Not me. I’ll stick to my Peregrine 5 or my new love interest – Altra’s Lone Peak 2.5.
Should I become lost in a snowstorm, I wanted to do my part so I wore bright clothing. (Thanks, in advance.) Surprisingly it was a winter false alarm. The sun was shining and I felt good.
I have run everyday since Sunday – short distances – but a run nonetheless. Yay for me! I am slowly making my running comeback.
I don’t use a HRM. I have trained with one–but that was just to help me acclimate to the heat. Once I figured out how to pace myself, I went back to running by feel. Old school. What can I say?

Lol I am trying to figure mine out. It’s okay so far. Not sure I will use it in the log run so to speak 🙂
Love the socks! Can’t believe it’s snowing already – well, I guess it is November!
