Excuse me if I have said this before – I absolutely love fall running! Why wouldn’t you when all the colors are front and centre for the runner to see!
I made plans with Brent to run at 8:30 a.m. at Riverbend. I mistakenly set the alarm on my iPhone for weekdays. Oops. I jumped out of bed at 8:15 a.m. and quickly texted Brent that I would be late. Thankfully he wasn’t too upset. (Here I was yesterday talking about how great it would be to start early so we could end early!)
What a glorious day! We were on the trail by 9 a.m. It was a little chilly so we both wore gloves. (Better get used to that!) We were surprised to see so much hoar frost on the trees and bushes. We came across several other runners who had the same idea.
Neither one of us has run in Riverbend in months. I haven’t because of my injury and the crazy detours. It was nice to get out there at least one more time this year.
I never get tired of this view! We came across a moose on our run who wasn’t too bothered by our tracks. He gave us a look then kept moving in the opposite direction.
We ran an easy 8K route. Brent did pretty good for someone who only runs once a month (if that). I was light on my feet as I concentrated on my form. It’s tough because I feel like I am starting back at square one. But I know it’s important to listen to my body.
My new Altras continue to feel amazing! Too bad I waited until the next of the non-snow season to get a pair.
