Weekend Round Up

I played the domestic goddess this past weekend.
Stuff was not going to get done itself.  I am leaving this coming Saturday for a two-week holiday so there simply isn’t anymore wiggle room in my procrastination.

I headed straight to my garden to pick greens after work on Friday. I shared a huge bowl with Christina. We met at the Olive for a drink (or four). We took a break between drinking for a quick walk with her lovely puppy. I don’t want to see my garden delights wasted so I shared the love.
My Saturday was spent mostly in the kitchen washing, chopping and blanching my Swiss chard and kale. Waste not, want not. I’ll use the greens for my smoothies in the fall and winter.
I also put my dehydrator to good use. I should be a little more creative in my work though. I made apple and banana chips, and crackers. One of these days I will get around to reading the book that came with my dehydrator.
Because my blueberries had seen better days, I made blueberry muffins. I can’t remember the last time I whipped up a batch. This time, however, I used chickpea flour. They turned out pretty good.
I ran for an hour with Diane along Bill’s Trails in Lacombe. I was excited to hear about her experience at Death Race. Of course she rocked it. Now I will live vicariously through Diane as she rocks Lost Soul next month!

Late Sunday, I headed to Sona and Brent’s place for a barbecue. Mira was the star of the afternoon. We enjoyed a nice vegetarian meal (including my first zucchini of season) with drinks.
Perfect way to wrap the weekend!
