I know the smart thing to do is to let my injuries heal and ease into the big mileage numbers. I am also ignoring the crash setback. If I focused on everything that has gone wrong in my training I would probably go a little more crazy. All I can do is take deep breaths and look on the positive side.
I struggled through a 2.5 hour on Sunday at River Bend. My right foot was acting up and my upper back was crazy stiff from the collision. I just hiked up the hills at a steady pace while I kept repeating in my head: time on feet, time on feet.
The heat didn’t help either. While I started out at 8 a.m. it was so bloody hot. I reckon the super warm temperatures will help on race day if the weather was like anything like it was last September. I finally got around to booking my hotel for the two nights I am in Lethbridge. Fortunately the hotel was not sold out.
I wish I could get a couple races under my belt before September but I just don’t want to chance seriously hurting my foot/leg/body/sanity. I’ll have to be satisfied watching everyone else race and read their race reports.
Happy Monday.
Hot as hell lately, seems we're to have quite the summer. Not so awesome for running though! Take it one thing at a time, you'll be just fine ๐
Thanks lady! Some seasons just don't go your way! Hope you are well!
