My week in training

Training in Bragg Creek really did a number on my legs. I don’t think I was fully recovered until Friday. It’s all good though. I want to spend as much possible in the mountains.

Crossfit, of course, didn’t help with my recovery. I went on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Now that I am in the thick of training I am scaling back to three days. The WODs were not too bad this week. I’ve been really focusing on my form and keeping the weight down.

This week my 6 a.m. classes will start 15 minutes earlier. Ugh. I need those extra 15 minutes for sleep. I think our faces say it all about the time change. Actually it will be good to have more time to get ready for work.

Steve and I went to the track on Thursday night. My legs were not happy to say the least. It was my first track session this year. I think it’s important to keep some speed in my legs. I hope this week will be better.

I joined Diane for a 16K run along the trails in Lacombe on Sunday. I worked on Saturday so I didn’t have the option to head to the mountains. Diane is such a great running partner. I’m so jealous of her awesome pace and she’s so strong on the hills. I wish!

Anyway this week will be more of the running and the crossfit.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. When are the best times for running at the track? I've never gone before but want to try it out. Would be good to let the kid run around while I get in a workout.
