Let's catch up

I survived the Big Cold of January 2015. I feel so much better today. Whoo hoo!

I am back. Keep scrolling and you will see my happy face. I am little behind in my training but I am totally okay with that. My body probably needed the two-week rest. (I haven’t made it back to Crossfit yet. I have no doubt everything is going to hurt when I return on Monday.)

Today I headed out for a solo 16K run after I studied for a couple hours. My exam is in two weeks so I can’t wait to be done with this studying. I want my weekends and evenings back. Honestly I don’t know how these full-time students can study with all the distractions!

I ran the city streets near my place. I miscalculated my distance so I did some random out and backs to make up the distance. By the end I was super thirsty. I really should have drank more water before I headed out. All in all it was a good little trek.
Tomorrow I am heading to the Running Room to run another 16K with Laura. Since the weather is so good lately I don’t want to miss the chance to run back-to-back longish runs. Before I know it .. I will be running Blackfoot again!
I’ve decided to scale back on my big runs this year. I don’t want to commit to too many ultras (even though I would love to do them all) because I want to do more hiking and camping. I am planning a two-week camping/hiking/trail trip to British Columbia in August.  I may also go up north.
So many things, so little time.

  1. Our big chill seems to have lifted as well, got up to +4 today! Nice to see your happy face and glad you enjoyed your run. The B.C. trip sounds awesome, once again, you westerners make me jealous! Just curious, what is it you are studying? Cheers!

    1. Municipal Government Law. Ugh. It is as boring as it sounds 🙂 but it helps me with my job because I mostly report on municipal politics. Thanks for stopping by again!

  2. So glad you're feeling better. 🙂 That's a great runfie 😀

I've decided to scale back in my big races too this year. I am not an Ultra runner, but I definitely am doing only one or two marathons…spaced very far apart.

    1. You did a lot last year! (So impressed!) Running is wonderful but there are so many other things that I would like to do 🙂

  3. I'm glad you are feeling better and that you had a great run, I love your selfie, you look so happy!!! I think it's great when you can realize your goals for the year and take action to make it happen. While you may want to run all the races, you have some awesome goals for the year that don't include running, I can't wait to see how the year plays out for you!
