As cheesy as it sounds, you never really know when will be your last on this glorious earth. I was reminded of this earlier this week when I was tasked to write about three young people who were killed on an Alberta highway. These kind of stories are always difficult to write. (Believe it or not reporters are humans too.)
I started thinking about life and what matters to me. I took stock of a few things in my life and I made some decisions. (More in another post)
This morning when I set out for my 10-mile run, I decided I would take in all the beauty. Lately I have been running on autopilot because I just wanted to clock those miles. But today I took my time to marvel at my surroundings because you never know when you might get smacked by a car.
Sometimes it’s important to just stop and take a look around. There was beauty in every corner that I turned. I lost the stress of the week and my feelings of sadness. This time of the year can be a downer for me but when I start feeling those old nagging feelings I just put on my sneakers and run.
Happy Saturday.
The photos are beautiful! Thanks for this post. This was just what I needed today! Today was my worst day in a long time…..feeling sad, stressed and just really DOWN, and guess what I DIDN'T do today??? I didn't go out for a run! You can be sure I will be out that door first thing tomorrow morning though!
Nice to hear. Get out there! ๐
Beautiful pictures! It looks so nice there ๐
Thanks Rebecca. Come visit anytime!
Pics are wonderful! It's still green here but they're calling for a "miracle" snowfall just in time for Christmas in these parts. Glad to hear the run helped with the mood swing, if only non-runners understood the benefits!
Thanks Brian!
