I like to escape to Sylvan Lake once a week. Whenever I need a time out from everything I hit the highway and I am at the provincial park in about 20 minutes. It’s funny because I am a fire sign and water always beckons me.
I always park on Lakeshore Drive so I can walk along the shore. I didn’t have to fight for parking like I do in the thick of the summer. There are bright orange fences in some places to keep people away from the frozen lake. I didn’t stray too close to the ice.
I had the lake to myself (for the most part). It was peaceful and calming. I took a few pictures with my iPhone (all those pictured in this post) and with my Canon. I have to download edit the shots on my camera. But mostly I went to the lake to think and to write in my journal. I’ve had this overwhelming desire to write down my every thought in my journal lately.
It was a glorious Friday to be offline and embracing the now. Being cooped up all week long can be a real drag. Sometimes I envy those construction workers and landscapers who get to spend their entire day outside.
And now you know my secret hiding place. Please don’t tell.
Beautiful shots! I just bought a Canon Rebel T5 this week and I have no idea how to use it, lol.
Damn that's lovely. Amazing how you can find all those colours in the winter. Having said that, I am fine with the mild temps continuing please and thank you.
