I am not running today. My right leg is now hurting when I run which is not a great feeling. Before I just dealt with some discomfort in my right foot. It’s time I take a step back and mend my aching body! I’m also breaking my #RunToCanadaStreak at #Day38. I’m sad about this but you have to do what you have to do!
I have two weeks left of “training” before the big taper. I love taper time! I can’t wait to rest. I’ve been a few marbles short of a mental breakdown lately. Mostly it’s because I have too much on my plate – running, crossfit, studying for two courses, work, change in work hours, volunteering and pretending to have a social life.
Last night I went for a lovely run around the neighbourhood near my office. It was just what I needed after another stressful day.
I run past this shed often. It always puts a smile on my face. I wonder who lives there. I quickly took the picture because I didn’t want to be seen looking over the fence.
Many of the trails near my office are closed because the city crews are installing a new water line. I pretended to be in the steeplechase before I attempted to jump over this barrier. It didn’t go so well.
Another run, another bridge to cross. I must post a photo page, Bridges of Red Deer City. The ice has melted and the water is flowing. I love the sound of water flowing in a creek.
Have you seen House of Cards? Red Deer’s historic “green onion” is similar to the “Peachoild” in one of the episodes. Now I always think about that show when I run past our water tower.
If all goes according to plan, I will run my third 32K or 20-mile run on Sunday. I am hoping to convince a few of my running pals to run some of the distance with me. I’m crossing my fingers that there is no more snow in May.
