Some non-running news

Hello November!

Two things were decided this week:

1. I would resume my Spanish language studies
2. I would find a professional development course
By the middle of the week, I had dusted off my Spanish books and signed up for a Local Government Law in Alberta on-line course through Athabasca University
When I set my mind to something nothing can stand in my way!
In the new year, I will find a Spanish language conversation course. Right now I can’t commit to anything because of the time of the year and my upcoming trip. For now I will delve back into the grammar and reading. On Thursday, I bought a new Spanish reading text. All set to get started.
What’s even more exciting is that my office will pay for the course and give me time during the work week to study! My plan is to start in January and write my final exam in March. No doubt the course will help with my reporting and down the line if I decided to pursue another direction.
Last night I checked out Fratters Speakeasy Venue with Renee. I haven’t had a chance to catch up with her since she returned to the city a month ago. We drank cocktails and shared stories. Love to have another option for live music in Red Deer. The place was very chill and the decor was gorgeous. Great end to the week!
