Marathon Monday: Week 6 Tucson Marathon Training

I allowed myself 3 days of rest. I don’t think I gave myself enough time to recover from the Canyon Crawl. My right leg and butt were screaming bloody murder for most of the week. Lesson definitely learned. Ice packs and ice baths were my two BFFs this week.

Highlight of the week? A solid interval training session on Thursday. Speed does not kill. It makes you stronger. Lowlight? An ugly 26k run on Sunday. Brent was there for my final 9k which was more like a crawl then a run. I suffered through an extra long ice session on Sunday.

                    
Week 6:
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: 8k + kettlebell action
Wednesday: 8k tempo
Thursday: 8k 4×400 intervals
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: 26k 
Again this upcoming week will focus on tempo/speed & strength training. I am switching crossfit gyms once my membership runs out at the current one. Until that happens, I am doing what strength I can do at home. I’m constantly checking blogs out for at home workouts. So if you know of any good ones, please send my way!
