Week 3 featured an unscheduled drop in mileage week. I may have overdone it last week with mileage. My right hammie/achilles were not feeling any love for running all week. That’s okay. Better to take it easy this early in my training.
Once again I was happy to have Brent and Laura join me for some runs. There’s always motivation in running groups. My speed on Wednesday and my LSD run on Sunday felt great.
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: Rest
Wednesday: 8k (6×400 intervals)
Thursday: Crossfit Barbell class (cleans)
Friday: 8k trail
Saturday: 5k (bike) + weights + pool
Sunday: 14k LSD
This upcoming week will also be a reduced mileage week. I am racing Melissa’s Road Race on Saturday. Because I am slightly injured, I need to take care of my poor legs this week. I may head back to the pool & gym for a few workouts. On Saturday, I used the steam room at a nearby community centre. Great to have all those toxins evaporate from my body. When I lived in Korea, I visited the bath houses at least three times a week.
I’m back into the training groove. All injuries aside it feels great.
