I was tempted to ignore my alarm every morning this week. I definitely needed the sleep. But I dragged my sorry butt out of bed for three strength workouts this week at Ignite. My legs are sore & need some rest so I took a short break to recover from last weekend’s races.
Wednesday
Strength was the name of the game today. I did a 1,200 metre row before sets of strict press and bench press – two of my non-favourite lifts. It has to get better, right? Actually I am feeling slightly more comfy with my bench.
Thursday
I was the only person at the 6 a.m. class. And I definitely wasn’t interested in doing the WOD so Kylene helped as I worked on building strength for pull ups. Damn it. I will get a pull up this year! I started my workout with a 1,000 metre row (another exercise I hate). I did a few set of negatives and bent over rows. The negatives were TOUGH and I definitely feel my muscles today. I’ll take that as a sign that I am getting stronger!
Friday
I decided to do the WOD which wasn’t my brightest decision. My legs are not recovered and my right hamstring is not happy. The WOD involved 30 walking lunges (half our body weight), 10 body rows and 10 dips in a 12 minute AMRAP. I cheated big time on the lunges after my first round. Legs were definitely not feeling it!
That’s my week in CrossFit. Now as I am nearly set to go on holiday, I want to stay focused on improving my fitness gains. I’m hoping to track down a crossfit gym in Halifax and to do some travel WODS on the road.
Happy Friday!

Amazing post! I've progressively turn out to be enthusiast of the post as well as want to recommend placing a few brand new improvements to create this far better.
