Ah Monday. The start to a new week where anything can happen. I started my week with a 10K run along the trails. As I am running sans Garmin, I picked a 5K out and back route. I didn’t want to hurt my brain by trying to calculate distance by memory. Besides the coffee would come after the run.
It was overcast and a little windy when I set out. Felt like a brisk fall day. At the last minute I pulled on a pair of my running arm sleeves. Perfect morning for them. I felt so-so on my run. Once I warmed up I felt much better.
There was a handful of people walking on the trail. I had to lie down and stretch out my right hip. That’s when I saw the owner of the Runner’s Den. Awkward. He waved hello and I shouted out a lame “I am stretching.” Yup. Very awkward.
I was face to the wet grassy ground as I did my 10 burpees at the 5K turnaround. No audience for my lacklustre burpees. I was fine with that. Only 90 more days to go!
Feels great to start the week off on the right foot, right?
