Waking up to run: 5 Benefits of Morning Runs

I will run before 9 a.m. every day this week. Running in the mornings is the best part of working afternoons/nights. I don’t have to worry about taking my gear to work or figuring out when I can pencil in a run into my busy schedule. Running is the first on my To-Do list.

1) More time for other things – Once I get my run over in the morning, I have more time after work to read, visit with friends or flake out. I can even run again if I want to.

2) No excuses – Work is not in the way. You don’t have plans at 6 or 7 a.m. so what’s your excuse?

3) Better sleep – I go to bed early when I know I am running or going to Crossfit in the morning

4) Creative juices get flowing – I always feel more alert and ready to take on the day.

5) Become a nicer person – Almost nothing beats the afterglow of a run. I always go into work with a smile on my face. I am much nicer to my grumpy coworkers and I don’t let their negative energies bring me down.

Well there you have it. Five reasons why it’s good to shake things up and run before the crack of dawn. I don’t do it all the time because of the weather & other commitments (Crossfit at 6 a.m.). But when I do, I go all in.

Happy Monday!
