On the sidelines: Volunteering at Freedom Run in Lacombe

I have to clock a few hours of volunteer time as part of my entry into Blackfoot. Runners love to give back so this was no sweat. I volunteered at the Freedom Run in Lacombe this morning.  I will also be volunteering at Woody’s before and after my own 10k in a couple weeks. Knock on wood there’s better weather.

Along with Diane, I directed foot traffic and vehicle traffic near the start and finish. It was a chilly, chilly morning for a run. It was a small field so we were only out for a couple of hours. Michelle and Jillian ran the 10k. Mary Ann was hanging out waiting so we sent her to Tim Hortons to pick up coffee. Much appreciated. I love hanging out at races and talking to runners/supporters. I always meet some good people. This time was no different.
