Oh the snatch & more

I won’t kid you. It was tough getting out of bed this morning. I wanted to hold my pillow tight. But I rested on Monday and Tuesday so I couldn’t skip today. I arrived at the box within plenty of time. In fact I waited about 5 minutes before the trainer opened the gym. As usual there were a few other cars in the parking lot.
Lately there’s been a lot of new people checking out the gym in the morning. Classes are full. Crazy at 6 a.m. if you ask me. 
Our WOD consisted of snatch & box jumps. I’m not a big fan of the snatch but I managed to get it done. In fact I felt pretty good. My technique seems to be improving. Bonus! At least I feel a little more confident. Seriously moving a heavy weight from the ground to over your head is quite intimidating.

The box jumps were fine. Sometimes I lose my rhythm and I have to jump on a smaller box to get it back during a WOD. This morning one of the guys kicked the shorter boxes away from my space. He gave me some “tough” advice. He said, “You know you can do it. Just do it.” 


I finished in about 8 minutes. Not sure if that is a good time or not. Whatever. I am just happy to get through the snatches. Felt good to get back to CrossFit. I know it’s only been 2 days but it seems like FOREVER.
Is this what an addiction feels like?
