How to gain upper body strength

It’s been six months since I started the regular classes at Crossfit and about a month since I increased the number of times I go to the box (3 to 4 times a week). I still really like doing the WODs. I am used to the early mornings now too.

I’m a little frustrated because I don’t seem to be getting any stronger. My press and pull ups suck. Is it possible to get weaker? Last week I needed four days to recover from a WOD that involved push press and press for the strength.

I don’t even want to talk about HSPUs. I need help.

Earlier this week Dave remarked about how I’m not gaining strength too. This morning he suggested I do 30 push ups a day.  Catherine suggested I eat a hamburger.

It won’t hurt, right? So this morning I did 30 push ups (3 sets of 10) after the WOD.

No doubt I will be sore again tomorrow because we worked on the press too. I also posted questions about gaining strength on the CrossFit Influential group on Facebook. The posters have been very helpful.

My challenge to myself? 30 pushups a day for 30 days. Go. I will keep you updated.
