No rest for the wicked

Happy Wednesday. I should be napping. It’s about 7:30 a.m. I’m just back from my morning WOD. I work afternoons this week (2 to 10 p.m.) so I like to nap for 3 hours or so when I finish. This way I can keep my eyes open at work. Not today. I feel restless. I don’t think I can sleep if I tried to. Don’t you hate those days? Some nights I have to take a sleeping aid when I have a lot on my mind. I don’t like to do it but sometimes it’s the only way to keep my sanity!

So far this week I have run and gone to CrossFit 3 times. Great start to the week. I wish I could get another run in but schedule does not allow. This morning’s WOD had 400 metres run in it so that’s good enough for now.

On Monday, I joined a few of the Wild Mountain folks for a short 4k run. I was excited and nervous at the same time. I hoped I could keep up. Although I huffed and puffed the whole way, it felt great to be out running again. The crisp, fresh air was exactly what I needed. I love running.

My foot didn’t complain too much. But I did feel a tightening around my calves. I made sure to do some extra stretching when I got home. I have a feeling re-gaining my running fitness is going to be a slow process. That’s okay. Better safe than sorry!
