Words on Wednesday

The smell of brewed coffee greeted me when I stepped in Chapters. Best pairing ever – coffee shop and bookstore.

When I lived in Ottawa, I used to hang out at the big Chapters on the corner of Rideau. I spent hours reading magazines and books and drinking coffee. It was one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon. These days I don’t go too often. I end up buying books. In my poorer days, I couldn’t afford to buy new books so that was not an issue.

These days I do buy every copy of Runner’s World and the odd edition of other running magazines. I save them all too. I never get bored re-reading them. Plus I like to lend them out to friends too.

Today I sipped coffee and glanced at a few mags before work. Chapters and Starbucks were bustling with activity. ‘Tis the season for coffee and books.

Hope you’re having a fabulous Wednesday. Enjoy the written word and read something today.

  1. I love doing this exact same thing. Sometimes (not very often) we all go (family) to wonder around, pick a book and then sit to enjoy the tasty delights of Starbucks!! Mmmmm. I wish I was there now!
