Olds Mud Run: Full Muddy Jacket

I can’t begin to tell you how much fun I had today! I was part of a five person team, Full Muddy Jacket, for the Olds Mud Run. Look at the smiles on Doug, Tara, Darrell and Corey! They had a blast too. We ran, jumped and crawled through mud. We scaled walls, climbed over hay bales and ladders. Between all that fun we walked over balance beams and ran through tire obstacles. Fun! I loved, loved it. Obstacle races are the way to go. It’s a wonderful test of strength. Plus you get to play in the mud.

I dragged Tara to CrossFit this morning before we drove to Olds. Our extra workout didn’t hinder us. I was just getting warmed up when we crossed the finish line! I wanted more! Wonderful experience. Because we were a team, we decided to do the course and finish together. It made the experience even better. I would crawl through mud with these guys anytime.
The only hiccup in the race was  a slight injury on my part. On the last obstacle – tires, I ran quickly and came down on my right ankle the wrong way. Ouch. Thankfully the race was over. I’ve been icing it since I came home. In fact right now, it’s in a bucket full of ice. Doesn’t feel serious but it does hurt when I walk on it. Knock on wood, I can run tomorrow!
