My wake up call at 5:15 a.m. is not welcomed. I would love to sleep in for another two hours. But I am committed to going to CrossFit at least 3 times a week. That means I am showing up at the box half asleep and groggy from a late night. Lately I am the only one there. Seriously. Who wants to workout at 6 a.m., if they can avoid it?
The only bright side is when no one shows up I get the coach all to myself. Actually now that I think about it, that’s not always the best thing. All the attention is on me. Yikes. I must say though Dave is a great coach. He’s encouraging and a nice kid.
Thankfully I had company this morning. There were 2 of us. I really struggled to get out of bed this morning. Ignite posts the WOD the night before on its website. I looked at it and thought oh no. I do not want to do this. Strength is not my strong point. No pun. This WOD was all about strength.
Surprisingly it wasn’t too bad. I started super light and as instructed added weight after each round. I felt good even though I needed some help with the last set of push presses. (I hate shoulder work). Whew! Glad I went. I was half tempted to stay in bed. This CrossFit stuff is becoming fun!
