And that’s Tuesday

I prepared to be super achy and sore on Monday. I felt fine. My ankles were a little tight as usual but other than that I was in full fighting form. I didn’t want to rest because I felt so great. I did anyway. My body needed the re-charge.

But my body also needed to train. The days are flicking by. It’s past time getting serious about my marathon training. I am going to make the best of the next 3 weeks.

My plan this week is to nail three quality runs, sleep well and eat well. I started with a 10k with 10×30 second speed intervals before work this morning. It was -1C. Fall is definitely here. I feel like a switch was turned overnight and all the leaves turned colour.

I ran to Three Mile Bend (5k) to warm up. On the turn around, I ran faster with 30 second pick ups and 30 seconds to 1 minute rest between intervals. The speed felt good. My legs felt pretty good too. My right ankle became a little wonky in the last kilometre but overall it was a quality workout.

Last night I had a good chat with Audrey. She’s pretty excited about Kelowna too. We’re counting down the days. Glad I have someone to run with!

For the rest of the week it’s Yasso 800s at the track, CrossFit, work and sleep. Awesome.
