Testing my limits at CrossFit

It’s test week at Ignite. Fortunately we eased into the testing with sit ups and push ups. I capped my sit ups at 50 and squeezed out 20 push ups. For strength before our WOD, we did our 1 RM back squat. Coach Dave said I am stronger than I think I am. I stopped at 100 pounds. Will I ever get over my fear of hurting myself?

Moving on to the WOD, I used the 45 pound bar. I knew my shoulder would not welcome the push ups. Still following the WOD, I struggled through a few pull ups. I know it wasn’t wise to put any more strain on my shoulders but I wanted to give it a go. Big mistake. I’ve been popping pills all day. What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger, right? Don’t worry I am still taking it easy. I really like CrossFit. I know it’s making me a stronger runner. I can feel it every time I scale a hill. No hill repeats for this runner in months.
