- Run 3 kilometres to warm up my body
- Run a fast 30 seconds (so you’re huffing and puffing); Rest by jogging or walking for 1 to 2 minutes. Repeat 30 second intervals x 6.
Yes I am still injured. Yes I went against doctor’s orders. The good doctor instructed me to sit on my butt for three weeks. Right. Like that’s going to happen.
I felt fine when I woke up this morning. I popped a couple pills right away. Last night the pills wore off when I was at a movie and my shoulder hurt like hell. I removed my sling last night and slept well. I’ve been icing and resting.
Since it’s my shoulder that’s injured I knew I could run a short run without doing too much damage. If it was bothering me, I would stop. No questions asked. All went well. I kept my distance short and ran fast. I have two weeks before the Edmonton half-marathon. I don’t want to screw up my race by not getting in a few more runs.
My shoulder will be fine. Now it’s time for more rest, ice and pills. And a whole lot of Olympics!
