Another morning session

Quick! Do the math.

WOD:
With a continuously running clock hit 1 deadlift every 30 seconds for 15 minutes:
60% of 1RM deadlift.
Made it to another 6 a.m. CrossFit session. It was pouring rain when I woke up. Perfect day for an inside workout.
There were only three of us this morning. Thankfully this gave me lots of one on one time. Because I needed it with a new skill: clean and jerk. Did I mention I’ve never tried his skill before? It’s the other Olympic weight lifting move (snatch is the other) that we do in CrossFit. I haven’t decided which one I love more.
Basically the “clean and jerk” is where the barbell starts from just below your knees and is lifted to shoulder height and “jerked overhead.” I practiced the split jerk where I lunge forward while I “jerk” the barbell overhead. I wasn’t comfortable yet to use weight. So I practiced and practiced my technique with the training. I’ll get it one day.
Moving on to the WOD:
I haven’t performed a max test for my deadlift so I just used 65 lbs (what I used the last time I did deadlifts). I am pretty sure it’s not my max. Great to get the technique down. It’s probably a good thing I didn’t go heavier because I can’t afford to have my legs feel like toast tomorrow. I have a race to run.
