I’ve been up since 6 a.m. Seems like the logical thing to do so I crash easily tonight. I don’t think it will be a problem. I’m ready to go back to bed now.
Carleigh and Jon should be here around 10ish. Then we’re off to the race expo in Calgary. I’m excited to pick up my race kit. They are always fun to open up. Unless of course you are in Red Deer and they just hand you your t-shirt and bib and say, “we’re going green.” Hmmmm…..
All my stuff for the weekend is spread out on my two couches and ready to be packed in assorted bags. Right now I am just staring at it. I don’t want to forget anything so I am bringing everything. A simple plan, right?
Tomorrow at this time I will be running my first marathon on Canadian soil and my second marathon. I hope my body holds up. Yesterday I had a sports massage before work. I asked the therapist to work on my legs specifically. Usually when I get massages, I ask them to focus on my shoulders and neck.
Did she ever work on my legs. Ouch. She worked my calves well. When I stood up, I could feel the tightness slip away. Later in the day, however, they were a little tender and complained as much. Thankfully they feel fine this morning. I would love to get another massage at the hotel but I don’t want to chance it.
Off I go to pack……
