Tonight we added “falling” to our running technique. Instead of bending from our waist, we are told to bend from our ankles. Jeff said we should keep this falling sensation when we run. We did a few “falling” drills on the track. I’m not sure if I am getting it right yet but I am processing the info.
From the drills we ran 8x200m (I ran an extra 400 metres). Jeff gave us a sheet of times based on our mile trial last week. For a 200 metre run, I was supposed to run 48 to 52.8 seconds. I felt like I was running too slow but I tried to stay within the suggested time.
I consciously tried to run on the balls of my feet and not to cross my arms over my torso. I was bending from every angle except my ankles. I felt a little stiff but I think I was running a little My better by the end of it. Jeff didn’t say much save for he said I wasn’t lifting my toes as much. He did say it will take time and practice to get everything right.
It felt good to be out running even for the short distance. I also miss CrossFit. I can’t wait to get back to it next week. I am so anxious about Sunday. Please send some positive vibes! My legs are a little tight but they are not aching. Sleep has been great this week. Some days I wish I were a pillow tester. I could stay in bed all day.
Two days until Calgary….
