Massaging out the kinks

I scheduled an early morning massage. I didn’t realize how tight the muscles in my neck were until they weren’t anymore. My massage therapist really worked my neck and shoulders. She spent a solid hour relieving the tightness. I felt instantly better when I got off the table.

Why didn’t I schedule a massage sooner? Massages are covered under my work health insurance up to $400. I plan to have one every two weeks. It’s really worth it. Particularly with all the punishment I have been inflicting on my body through my marathon training. And the havoc I cause on my shoulders and upper body by sitting at a desk for eight hours.
I only got her to work on my upper body. I know my legs and hips probably need some work but I can do a lot of it myself with my foam roller and tennis ball.

I’m a little zonked from Tuesday’s CrossFit class and tempo run and Wednesday’s hills. I’m skipping today’s steady run. I’ll just head to another humbling CrossFit class. In Tuesday’s class, we concentrated again on proper squat form. Some days I feel I have it and on other days, I feel like I am completely falling apart. Ugh.
