I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning let alone run outside in the frigid temperatures. But I managed to do both. Life doesn’t end when it’s -35C and feels like -40C with the wind chill. I am Canadian after all. I worked. I ran.
My LTR group did not come out tonight so I had my pick of groups to run with –– 5k, 10k or half-marathon. The 10k was running the longest distance so I hijacked John Jenkins group. There were three of us. We ran a speedy 7k through the trails and on to 40th Street.

I forgot to charge my Garmin so I have no idea what my pace was. I was huffing and puffing so I know it was fast. That’s just what I needed.
I had to relax and outrun the stress. These last few days have been stressful. It’s amazing how a little bit of exercise can change your whole mood. I love when I find my happy pace.
I wish I could bottle my post-run mood. Then I could it on those days when I fret about going for a run or just when I need a pick me up. I am much better when I run.
