Weather is all the talk today – online and offline. The big deep freeze is well underway in Alberta. Last night it dipped below -30C and tonight it’s supposed to be even colder.
I envy my runner friends who live in warmer climates. I want their sunshine. I am so jealous.
But jealously never helps anyone, does it?
Right so I am going to suffer through this cold spell and hate every minute of it.

Tonight I decided to get a few errands done. I wanted to be home. I wanted to avoid the outdoors as much as I can. I may scale down my mileage this week because of the cold spell.
You know how much I hate the dreadmill but I may have to buck up and run on it. Boo. Having training goals can suck sometimes. Ha.
Some tips for sub-zero running:
1. Dress for the weather and do not overdress. Dress in layers, wicking material etc
2. Cover up face and hands. Wear a balaclava
3. Reduce running time outside
4. Run with friends
5. Slow down
6. Wear sunglasses
7. Apply vaseline on face
8. Pay attention to the windchill
