This week sucked. I had a crap work schedule. And when I have a crap work schedule, I just want to drink wine and stay in bed. For a good part of the week, I thought about just doing that.
What I didn’t do was run. I ran 10 km on Tuesday and a few kilometres with my LTR group on Monday. That was it. Wednesday and Thursday were complete write offs.
I have trouble with focus and energy when I work afternoon/night shifts. All my well thought out plans just go out the window. My willpower faded. I drank beer (Thursday night) and I ate chocolate (Thursday at work and Friday at work).
I suck. Okay so I wasn’t a complete slacker. I just didn’t clock as much mileage as I would have liked.
When I left work tonight, it was pitch black so I headed to the gym for some cardio and weights.
My body thanked me for the workout.
I’m going to forgive myself this week. I can only look forward. Right?
Thankfully I am not on the clock this weekend. I hope to make up for my lazy week.
